Dr. Jess Harvey

Jess uses Osteopathy to restore balance in the musculoskeletal system and minimise further stress so the body is better able to heal itself. Jess uses massage, visceral and neural manipulation, cranio-sacral technique, dry needling, HVLA manipulation and stretching to free restricted joints and release tight muscles, fascias and organs. This can assist the body to return to its most efficient state of health.

Jess, a Life Coach and previously a Personal Trainer, has a special interest in using exercise rehabilitation and functional (integrative) medicine principals including optimal nutrition, sleep hygiene and stress management to produce greater outcomes.

Jess’ aim is to (where possible) keep you in your training, work or your sport during your management, which can include guidance on how to modify your exercise sessions or work tasks to keep you doing what you love to do.

Jess ensures you fully understand your condition and can educate you on simple and effective management and preventative strategies that you can easily implement into your lifestyle in your home or workplace.

Jess is a university trained, government registered Osteopath and a member of Osteopathy Australia and is also registered with Medicare, Work Cover Queensland and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Jess participates in ongoing skill development and education to remain at the forefront of the application of treatment and patient management. This includes extra study with Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), Bioindividual Nutrition Institute, Barral Institute, GAPS Certified Practitioner Training and the Mindd Institute.

Dr. Mark Shaw  (Contractor)

B.Sc (Osteopath) Registered Osteopath

Mark trained at the British School of Osteopathy gaining a Bachelor of Science Degree, he has been in private practise for over 20 years.

Mark enjoys treating a wide variety of patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Drawing on his training and extensive experience he uses a combination of gentle, safe and effective Osteopathic techniques combined with simple lifestyle and exercise tips to aid recovery and rehabilitation, tailored to suit the individual needs of each patient.

In his spare time Mark enjoys weight training, kayaking and horse riding and before coming to Australia was a keen skier and spent many seasons in New Zealand treating extreme and competitive skiers in Queenstown.

Mark is a government registered Osteopath and a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association, and is also registered with Medicare, Work Cover Queensland and the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Dr. Melanie Shubert  (Contractor)

B.Clin.Sc (Osteo, Hum.Str.Fn), M.Osteo.Med. Registered Osteopath

Melanie has always been passionate about maximising life; regularly enjoying healthy eating, physical challenges, kayaking, travel, and hiking adventures. Life experiences, health maintenance and recovery from recreational and extreme sport injuries, inspired Melanie to make rewarding life and career changes to learn how to find a healthy balance for herself and others as a physical therapist.

Continued research and interest in pain management and functional rehabilitation led Melanie to Osteopathy while working as a Remedial Massage Therapist and Circus Skills Coach in Byron Bay. Incorporating valuable clinical experience and mentor-shared knowledge with an evidence-informed approach, Melanie uses osteopathy to holistically assess how you move and function, aiming to understand your needs and expectations, to create a suitable treatment plan for you. Melanie enjoys treating people of all ages, with a special interest in women’s health, and can integrate care with your GP, Exercise Physiologist, Psychologist, and any other health professionals.

Your Osteopathy treatment may include a combination of safe and effective massage and osteopathic techniques, that aim to assist in managing your short and long-term pain, address ergonomic and postural influences, and assist in recovery from headaches, congestion, and musculoskeletal injuries. Melanie, also a qualified Personal Trainer, encourages active involvement in recovery, by educating you with practical lifestyle strategies and integrating rehabilitative and functional exercises, that aim to reduce pain intensity and keep you moving.
